How does this sound for a ninja smoke bomb?

So i was laying in bed one night with frustration that i couldn't figure out how to make a ninja smoke bomb. Then i started thinking of some materials i could use, when it hit me, why not take black powder or gun powder, place a small mound in the center of flash paper, lay those little poppers that when you throw them onto the ground, they create a little explosion into some saran wrap, lay the flash paper and gun powder ball onto that, wrap it all up with string and your set. Does this sound like it is worth trying, or is it just a waste of my time.
