"for guys" what does it mean when a guy write this down?

This sounds very much like a poem. He must have had a bad relationship in the past that closed all his feelings and emotions down, but now... things are resurfacing and he is confused as to how to pursue or accept it. He is insecure of getting hurt again, but at the same time is welcoming the risk.
