Why do people regret having MANIPULATIVE personalities?

I've seen people regret this but not too many. I consider being a Sociopath a gift that very few of us actually have. We get everything we want and do not need a stable relationship to be happy. How could you regret being like this? I understand if you are a typical insecure person using manipulation as a tactic to destroy everyone's life and NOT have a sociopathic personality because then later on in life you regret what you have done and that is typically why an average manipulator THINKS he is a sociopath, but is really not.
