Was "The Flintstones" reality tv?

I remember the first time as a child when I realized how stupid most people were. I was probably 8 and was chatting with a boy who was probably 14 and the conversation turned to dinosaurs ( as an 8 year old's conversation frequently will) and he believed they lived with humans because of the Flintstones. From then on I umed people were idiots until proven otherwise.
